My Top Wedding Locations Geelong

Top Wedding Locations in Geelong – From a Photographer’s Perspective

If you're planning a wedding in Geelong, you're seriously spoilt for choice when it comes to venues. From coastal views and vineyards to modern spaces and rustic charm, Geelong has something for every kind of couple.

As a local wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to shoot at some of the best venues in the region. So here’s my take on the top wedding locations in and around Geelong — not just from a guest’s perspective, but from behind the lens.

Geelong Botanic Gardens

Geelong

The Geelong Botanic Gardens is hands down one of the prettiest places to hold a ceremony. It’s quiet, lush, and full of natural beauty — think old trees, curated gardens, stone pathways, and beautiful seasonal colour all year round.

It’s perfect for intimate weddings, elopements, or couples who want a nature-forward setting without leaving the city.

Photographer tip: There’s soft, diffused light under the trees, and the fernery area makes for a dreamy background.

The Pier Geelong

Geelong Waterfront

With panoramic views of Corio Bay, The Pier is one of Geelong’s most iconic wedding venues. The light here at sunset is absolutely golden — it wraps around the venue beautifully, especially in summer. It’s perfect for couples who want that luxe waterfront look without heading to the coast.

Photographer tip: Amazing spot for photographs is a secret location under the Pier restaurant.

 Mt Duneed Estate

Waurn Ponds

Mt Duneed has this effortless mix of industrial-chic and vineyard charm. The Barrel Hall is stunning for receptions, and the ceremony lawn has wide open skies — amazing for natural light photos.

Photographer tip: I love photographing in the Olive Grove, such a lovely intimate spot for all weddings

Provenance Wines

Fyansford

Located in an old bluestone paper mill, Provenance is all exposed brick and dramatic interiors. It’s perfect for modern couples who want something a bit different and don’t mind leaning into a moodier vibe.

Photographer tip: Exploring all different areas of this location, there are many hidden gems.

Jack Rabbit Vineyard

Bellarine

Jack Rabbit has one of the best ceremony views in the region, looking right out over the bay. The reception spaces are bright and open, with vineyard charm all around.

Photographer tip: The view is west-facing = insane sunsets. Time your ceremony or portraits to catch it.

There’s no shortage of stunning wedding venues in and around Geelong — and whether you're planning a waterfront celebration or a vineyard elopement, choosing the right location makes all the difference (especially in your photos!).

As a local photographer, I love helping couples find venues that fit their vibe and photograph beautifully — because when you feel good in the space, it shows in every frame
